Who we are

CINA 1650 AM is brought to you by Neeti P. Ray and his Radio India team. Neeti is well-known in Canada for his rich, soothing voice and high quality programs. In addition to Radio India, he also produced and hosted the TV shows AsiaNet TV and Bombay Talkies. Neeti brings over 28 years of broadcasting experience to CINA 1650 AM. It is because of his vision and dedication to serving Canada’s South Asian community that CINA Radio promises to be what the community wants.

A rich history

CINA 1650 launched in December 2008, but it is the culmination of years of radio broadcasting. Neeti’s broadcasting career started in 1980 in Edmonton, Alberta. Read more about his childhood love for radio in the next section. Neeti P. Ray first started Radio India in Toronto in 1990. Over the next decade or so, Radio India changed the broadcasting standard in Ontario. Radio India dominated the airwaves during the 90s -at one point, having more listeners than 680 News! The program broadcasted 8.5-11 hours a day, 7 days a week. Radio India was taken off the radio when the new owners at 610 CKTB did not want ethnic programming. It was then that Neeti P.Ray knew he had to own his own radio station to go on the air.

CINA 1650 AM was licensed to Neeti P. Ray by the CRTC through a competitive application process.

Coverage
